The following system recommendations and minimum technology requirements apply to all students pursuing a Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree at Huntington University. The following recommendations are made to ensure your success as an OTD student. Please contact the department with any questions or concerns regarding your system's compliance.
All students in the OTD program are responsible for having a working device that meets the minimum requirements listed below. Please use this information to help in making decisions regarding the purchase of a system for study.
Students will use their computers to perform the following tasks:
- Accessing and downloading course files (e.g., documents, presentations, videos, etc.).
- Uploading assignment files (e.g., documents, presentations, videos, etc.).
- Taking quizzes and exams.
- Posting to discussion boards.
- Accessing resources through different browsers.
- Taking notes/annotating resources.
- Presenting student-created files/media through a data projector.
- Use of a functioning microphone and camera.
- Course- or program-related meetings using applications requiring audio and video (e.g. Moodle, Zoom, etc.).
- Saving your notes and coursework to online cloud storage or an external storage device.
- High-speed access to the internet.

General Recommendations
- Students should not rely entirely on a tablet, smartphone, or Chromebook to complete your online classes.
- Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides will allow you to download documents in Microsoft Office format. It is still recommended that you have a copy of Microsoft Office to avoid any issues with compatibility or formatting.
