Chelsey Edwards, OTD, OTR/L, CLT, serves as the incoming Program Director for the Doctoral Program in Occupational Therapy at Huntington University Arizona (HUAZ). Her years of service at HUAZ has been marked by a series of impactful roles, including Academic Fieldwork Coordinator, Capstone Coordinator, Assistant Professor, and Director of OTD Admissions. As a founding member of the inaugural HUAZ OTD program, Dr. Edwards brings unparalleled expertise and a visionary approach to her leadership, driving the program's growth and excellence.
With extensive full-time practice as an occupational therapist and a certified lymphedema therapist, Dr. Edwards possesses a broad and deep clinical background. Her professional experience spans acute rehabilitation, skilled nursing, pediatric sensory integration, home health, and outpatient lymphedema therapy. She has worked across the lifespan, serving pediatric, adult, and geriatric clients, and has honed her skills in multidisciplinary care and innovative program development.
Her research interests are rooted in the scholarship of teaching and learning, focusing on growth mindset, emotional intelligence, and sense of belonging. Dr. Edwards has made notable contributions to the field through her publications on growth mindset, perceived stress and emotional intelligence, and the experience of occupational therapy in the ICU.
Dr. Edwards is deeply committed to the Christian mission of Huntington University and is dedicated to advancing the OTD program through a blend of faith, scholarly excellence, and dedicated service.
