Facilitating opportunities to lead others into worship is a worthwhile calling to pursue, and at HU, you can add a worship studies minor as a secondary focus to your degree. Unlike the worship leadership major, the worship studies minor does not require courses taught through the music department that focus on performance skills. Rather, it is meant to complement any of the ministry majors and help prepare you for pastoral ministry or someone wishing to serve as a lay-leader in the church.
Immerse yourself in worship leadership through on-campus opportunities and the PRIME Experience.
Develop an understanding of true worship as a biblical and theological base—worshiping in spirit and truth.
Combine worship, ministry, and Bible and religion courses to complement any of the ministry majors.
If you’d prefer an emphasis on performance, consider a worship leadership major.
The worship studies minor is designed for students interested in forming a theological and philosophical foundation for Christian worship. This 19-credit minor includes a four-course worship studies core, a two-course ministry studies core, and an internship opportunity.
