We are officially less than one month away from the start of the fall 2023 semester, Foresters. Are you ready? To help you prepare for the first day of classes, I’ve gathered together some of my favorite HU academic resources, webpages you will access repeatedly while a student.

Three science-focused camps featured hands-on lab experiences, field trips, and an introduction to college-level science study and college life. And this was only the beginning.

Students experienced firsthand what it is like to be a professional storyteller, producing portfolio-worthy projects with professional equipment and engaging with a community of artists and storytellers. For many, the Academies confirmed their interest in the arts.

I think the most important lesson that I’ve learned is, perhaps, that when I work, I ought to work for the Lord and not for myself or a paycheck or those kinds of things. That’s the thing that every day just keeps me going. That’s the thing that continues to ground me.

I knew that I liked medicine starting in middle school because I loved the science of it. But once I hit high school, that’s when it officially hit me. I just really loved the physiology of everything. That kind of started me on the path.

My family knew little about the Church of the United Brethren in Christ when I visited Huntington University as a prospective student. Nevertheless, my Christian parents and I were confident that HU would support my spiritual growth. I know now that this had much to do with HU’s relationship with the UB denomination.

If campus involvement opportunities and access to extracurricular activities are at the top of your list, you will want to approach the college admissions process with an understanding of what you are already interested in. What would you like to continue doing in college?

The right place for you will align with your core beliefs and provide an environment that will encourage you to grow in your faith. Both doctrine and a personal sense of connection are going to be important.

Even if you aren’t sure what major you will choose, finding a school with the right academic culture can be one of your top priorities. In a school with a healthy academic culture, you will be set up for success regardless of the major you choose.
