Four seniors honored by the ministry and missions department

HUNTINGTON, Ind. The Huntington University ministry and missions department honored four seniors at the end of the 2013-2014 school year. Ashley Haynes, a senior children's ministry and missions major from Palatine, Ill., received the award given to the outstanding Christian education major. It was sponsored by the Society of Professors of Christian Education.
Brandon Groff, a senior youth ministries major from Mount Pleasant, Pa., was recognized as the outstanding youth ministry student. The award was sponsored by the Association of Youth Ministry Educators.
Janessa Macejak, a senior missions major from Huntington, Ind., received a missions award sponsored by the United Brethren Global Ministries.
Alexandra Carlson, a senior worship leadership major from LaMoille, Ill., received an Award of Distinction for Outstanding Scholarship and Leadership in Christian Worship by the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies (IWS).
The students were selected for the awards by the ministry and missions department faculty members. Students are selected based on GPAs, practical ministry involvement and consistent pattern of character.
All students received a certificate, and Macejak received an additional cash award.
The four awards were presented separately from Forester Night where Holly Lutton, a senior youth ministries major from Anderson, Ind., received the ministry and missions departmental award.
