Sparks Wraps Up Career as NAIA All-American

Sparks finishes time as a Forester with Second Team All-American honors
HUNTINGTON, Ind. — With the books closed on another Forester basketball season, the awards continue to pile up for Huntington University senior Lane Sparks. The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its 2024-2025 Men's Basketball All-American honorees with Sparks one of 12 players to earn Second Team praises.
Sparks, a Dillsboro, Indiana, native (Greensburg HS), stuffed the stat sheet night after night for Alford's crew. The 6-3 guard led the league in scoring by pouring in 22.7 points a game in addition to averaging 4.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.3 steals. He finished 7th in the nation in scoring.
A scorer at all three levels, Sparks wrapped up his career with 2,289 points to rank fifth on HU's all-time scoring list. During his four years in Forester green, he averaged 18.8 points per season.
Sparks and crew finished the year with an overall record of 25-8. The Foresters, ranked 12th in the final poll, put the finishing touches on a memorable season by making their fourth straight trip to the NAIA National Tournament.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 18 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 160 NAIA All-America honors and 567 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
