Huntington University Hosts Write a Will Event

Huntington University, in partnership with the Charitable Gift Planners of Northeast Indiana, will be a host site for Write a Will Week for the second year in a row. The event will take place at the Habecker Dining Commons from October 22-25.

Lisa Garrott, local estate attorney and a member of the Forester Legacy Advisory Council, will write a simple will, free of charge, provided the participant include a not-for profit organization as a beneficiary, and is open to the public. The 30-minute appointments are available on Monday, October 22 between 9:00-11:00 am, Tuesday October 23 from 2:00-4:30pm, Wednesday October 24 from 9:30-11:00am, and Thursday October 25 from 1:30-3:30pm.

“Studies show that two-thirds of Americans do not have a will. This will be a great opportunity to have a simple will written, help organizations like Huntington University further its mission through students for generation to come, and gain peace of mind knowing your wishes will be completed,” stated Pete Schownir, Huntington University’s Director of Gift Planning.
