HU to Host Write a Will Event
Huntington University, in partnership with the Planned Giving Council of Northeast Indiana, will be a host site for Write a Will Week. The event will take place at the Habecker Dining Commons on October 23 and 25.
Lisa Garrott, local estate attorney and a member of the Forester Legacy Advisory Council, will write a simple will, free of charge, provided the participant include a not-for-profit organization as a beneficiary. The 30-minute appointments are available Monday, October 23, from 9:30-11:00 a.m. and Wednesday, October 25, from 2:30-3:30 p.m.
Seth Kimmel of Kimmel Financial Services, a 2006 HU graduate and member of the Forester Legacy Advisory Council, will also be available for free 30-minute appointments on October 23 from 9:00-11:30 am and October 25 from 2:00-4:30 pm. Kimmel will answer questions regarding estate planning, investments and insurance.
“Studies show that two-thirds of Americans do not have a will. This will be a great opportunity to have a simple will written, help non-profit organizations and gain peace of mind knowing your wishes will be completed,” stated Pete Schownir, Huntington University’s Director of Gift Planning.
To reserve your appointment for either opportunity, please contact Schownir at pschownir@huntington.edu or (260) 359-4045.
