Forester Lecture Series announces season speakers

Bill and Gloria Gaither top the list of lecturers for the Forester Lecture Series' 2005-06 season. Huntington, Ind. " Huntington University announces its Forester Lecture Series speakers for the 2005-2006 season. Christian music pioneers Bill and Gloria Gaither top the list of lecturers, as they will present Christian Worship: Past, Present, Future on Monday, October 3, 2005. This presentation compliments Huntington University's new program in Worship Leadership.
In addition, Huntington University's new program in Recreation and Sports Ministry will be given attention through a lecture by Tom Roy, founder and director of Unlimited Potential, Inc. He will present his lecture, Serving Christ Through Baseball, on Tuesday, September 13, 2005.
In November, photojournalist Ryan Spencer Reed will present Hands of a Displaced Sudan: A Cry for Compassion on Tuesday, November 15, 2005. Reed has selected over 70 images of a photo-documentary exhibit building on his travels through Sudan, Kenya and Chad to illuminate the tragic story that continues to unfold in East Africa.
Peter Vander Meulen, national coordinator of Micah Challenge USA, will present The Micah Challenge on Monday, December 5, 2005. Micah Challenge is an initiative to combat global poverty and hunger with a goal of reducing world poverty in half by the year 2015.
Finally, the annual Faculty Lecture will be given by Dr. Mark Fairchild, professor of Bible & Religion at Huntington University. Fairchild was awarded the honor of delivering the Faculty Lecture through a competitive review process supervised by the Office of the Academic Dean. He will present Skeletons in the Closet: Modern Scholarship and the Apostle Paul's Ignominious Past on Thursday, February 2, 2006.
Huntington University presents the Forester Lecture Series each semester. The lectures are designed to bring interesting persons and topics to the attention of students and the regional community. The lectures are held in the Zurcher Auditorium of the Merillat Centre for the Arts at Huntington University. The lectures are open to the public free of charge and begin at 7 p.m.
