HUNTINGTON, Ind. The Huntington University Peer Award recipients for December are Sara Baldwin, graduate and Professional Programs admissions consultant, and Pam Rudy, administrative assistant to the vice president for business and finance.
Shoshannah McKinney, associate director of TESOL and the international admissions counselor, passed the Peer Award to Baldwin.
"Over
the last several months, I have had the privilege of getting to know
Sara and working with her to recruit students for our first Fort Wayne
Professional Programs TESOL cohort," McKinney said. "I wouldn't have
expected someone helping me recruit for 'my' program to have just as
much if not more enthusiasm about it than me. But Sara has far exceeded
that low expectation. … She is a great collaborator … and has helped me
appreciate, yet again, the value of collaboration and the team spirit
we work within each day at HU."
Nancy Barnes, music department secretary, passed the award to Rudy.
"Since
I have been here at Huntington University, Pam has been so much help.
When I first began here, there was so much to learn and so many mistakes
to be made. Pam was always there to help me straighten things out, and
understanding when I messed up," Barnes said. "She wears many hats in
the Business Office, and if she doesn't know, she knows where to find
the answer. She is a fine Christian lady with a positive attitude and a
willingness to help out any way she can."
The Peer Award, which
began in 2003, promotes acknowledgment and recognition of the
outstanding efforts of Huntington University faculty and staff members.
Award winners are chosen and recognized each month by fellow peers.
