Linda Urschel
Professor Emerita of English
Dr. Linda Urschel holds a PhD in Composition and Rhetoric from Ball State University and has taught at Huntington University since 1984. She is a member of the National Council of Teachers of English, the American Popular Culture Association of the South, the Conference on College Composition and Communication, the College English Association, for which she serves on the board, and the Indiana College English Association for which she serves as past president and board member. In 2011, she presented papers at the Christianity and Literature Conference and the Indiana CEA, and in 2012, she presented "Sing[er]ing a Song of Salvation: John Singer as a Savior in The Heart Is a Lonely Hunger” at the Indiana CEA conference. She is a member of the Huntington Shakespeare Club and Central Christian Church. Areas of expertise for speaking: folklore, American literature, urban legends, and detective fiction.
