Dr. Jeffrey F. Sherlock is the Professor of International Business and Management at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, USA. Jeff is also an adjunct instructor at Huntington University and LCC International University. He also spent a sabbatical year teaching at Xi’an International Studies University in Xi’an, China. Previous work experience includes working with The Cyril Scott Printing Company in Lancaster, Ohio, from 1978-1990; his responsibilities included quality control, customer service, production planning, and sales. Jeff worked in Macau SAR, China from 1990-1992 teaching and directing the business operations of an English language program. From 1993-1997, Jeff was assistant professor of business at Huntington University as well as the director of the EXCEL Program. He has also done consulting work in a variety of community and business settings – United Way, Columbia City Homeless Shelter, Steuben County Leadership, Steuben County Community Foundation, and United Way of Huntington County.

Jeff’s research/service interests include entrepreneurship, specifically as a platform for service, business as service, and servant leadership, particularly in a cross-cultural setting. International teaching/training/consulting activities include applying Jim Collins’ Good to Great in a Chinese context (2017, 2018), training in Small Business Development, Yangon, Myanmar (2017), applying Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People in a Chinese context, Xi’an, China (2016, 2017, 2018), global marketing and business cultures course, Klaipeda, Lithuania (2015, 2017, 2018, 2019), training in Small Business Development (with students), Sierra Leone, West Africa (2012), understanding globalization and e-commerce, Qinghai, China (2010), consulting on an agriculture business, Sierra Leone, West Africa (2010), and consulting on island resort development (with students), Batam, Indonesia (2010).

Jeff graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor of business administration degree and a master of business administration degree. He received his doctorate in adult and community education from Ball State University where his dissertation was “The Assessment of Student Learning Outcomes in Management and Business-Related Adult Accelerated Degree Completion Programs.” Jeff and his wife, Joan, reside in Huntington, Indiana where Joan recently retired from the Huntington Library. They have three grown sons. Jeff enjoys reading, hiking, international issues, and computers. He has traveled widely to a variety of countries including China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, Singapore, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Ecuador, Argentina, Lithuania, Germany, Switzerland, France, Poland, Costa Rica, and Guatemala.
