Dr. Ed McKaig

Resident Veterinarian


Joined the Huntington University faculty in 2023.

Dr. Ed McKaig, DVM, joined Huntington University in 2023 and serves as the resident veterinarian within the Haupert Institute for Agricultural Studies. Ed earned both a Bachelor of Science degree and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue University. He was the owner/managing veterinarian at the New Haven Pet Hospital (New Haven, Indiana) until 2022, and he currently serves as a relief veterinarian in Northeast Indiana.

At Huntington University, Ed provides professional insight for the students pursuing a dual degree in animal health (a Bachelor of Science degree from HU) and veterinary nursing (an Associate of Applied Science degree from Purdue University through the College of Veterinary Medicine). He is also a valuable resource to students pursing acceptance to vet school after graduation. Ed and his wife, Cindi, have four adult children and six grandchildren.
