November Events to Mark on Your Calendar

There's much to be thankful for in November!

In November, our side of the globe may be turning colder in preparation for winter, but the creative minds from the Merillat Centre of the Arts are only getting warmed up. Before we plunge into winter, the MCA welcomes you to wrap up this autumn enjoying a variety of musical, theatre, and visual arts.

Consider this your invitation to join us! All of these events are free and open to the public:

1. November 1: All-Area I Student Recital

4:00 p.m.
Longaker Recital Hall

Our first event of the month is brought to you by Huntington University’s vocalists and instrumentalists, who will present a variety of the solo and ensemble performances they have been working on throughout the semester.

2. November 3: Senior Recital: Neal & Wright

7:30 p.m.
Longaker Recital Hall

Performing this evening will be Audrey Neal, mezzo-soprano, and Bailey Wright on trumpet. These seniors will present the result of years of hard work and skill, so come show them your support and enjoy some fantastic music.

3. November 16-18: Tuck Everlasting

November 16-17, 7:30 p.m.
November 18, 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Zurcher Auditorium

The Huntington University Theatre Company brings you Tuck Everlasting, a story about being confronted with the offer of immortality adapted from the novel by Natalie Babbit.

4. November 17: Gallery Reception: Music, You See?

4:00 p.m.
Robert E. Wilson Art Gallery

Anyone can come and view Layne Ewing’s illustrations on exhibit in the Robert E. Wilson Art Gallery from November 8 through January 10. No appointment is needed, and admission is free. The Gallery Reception will take place on November 17 from 4:00-5:30 p.m.

5. November 29: All-Area II Student Recital

4:00 p.m.
Longaker Recital Hall

What better way to close out your Wednesday afternoon than listening to live music? In case you missed the first recital or were hoping for more, the Department of Music is holding another student recital, same time and place as before.
