Living in Livingston
As a student, I lived in Baker Hall and currently live in Roush Hall, but Livingston Hall was the first dorm I had a room. It was for a five-day summer camp right before my freshman year. I wanted to be in a dorm closer to the Quad and mailroom when I became an actual student, but Livingston has plenty to offer.
I imagine Livingston is extremely popular for athletes and fine or performing art students, being the closest dorm to the Merillat Complex & Fieldhouse and the Studio Arts Center and having the fastest access to the main floor of the Merillat Centre for the Arts. The building is also right next to the Habecker Dining Commons, which comes in handy for rain and winter (the trek from Roush to get breakfast can be tough on cold days).
Livingston has a community-style floor and bathroom layout, so every area feels extra spacious. If the idea of a community-style bathroom sounds uncomfortable (I get it, I need privacy, too), every shower has an extra curtained area for changing. As for the bedrooms, there is not much difference between them and most other dorm rooms on campus. They are spacious, have stackable furniture, and provide plenty of storage space. The windows are slightly smaller, but that barely makes a difference. You still get a lot of natural light, and you have a little more space on the wall.
I have fond memories of my short time in Livingston. However, doing research of the other dorms helped me find one that I liked slightly more. If you are looking for the right dorm to room in, information can be found at huntington.edu/Residence-Halls.
