April MCA Events to Mark on Your Calendar
As Huntington University enters the final month of our academic year, the Merillat Centre for the Arts has a variety of events lined up for this April.
1. April 2: Faculty Lecture: Dr. Dwight Brautigam
7:00 p.m.
Zurcher Auditorium
Dr. Dwight Brautigam will join us for a talk titled “A New Game for An Old Prof: Life in France During World War II.” Brautigam is a professor of European history. He specializes in 17th century English political and religious history and has a unique teaching style that gets students interested in learning about the past through the incorporation of games.
2. April 3: All-Area II Student Recital
4:00 p.m.
Longaker Recital Hall
This event features a variety of music majors and minors in vocal and instrumental solo or chamber music performances.
3. April 5: Concerto Winners Concert
7:30 p.m.
Zurcher Auditorium
HU music students who passed a rigorous audition will present their hard work as soloists accompanied by the Huntington University Chamber Orchestra. The evening will also feature the HU Concert Choir.
4. April 9: Spring Symphonic Band Concert
7:30 p.m.
Zurcher Auditorium
Come listen to the students of HU’s Department of Music as they bring us another grand performance of high-caliber musical scores.
5. April 12: Gallery Reception: Huntington University Graduating Senior Exhibit
6:00-7:30 p.m.
Robert E. Wilson Art Gallery
At this reception, HU seniors from the Department of Art & Design will display their talent and hard work before graduating. Celebrate with HU students as they receive recognition for their achievements at the gallery reception!
Check out the exhibit anytime from Thursday, April 4, 2024 – Sunday, April 28, 2024.
The Gallery is open Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
6. April 12-13: Student One-Act Festival
April 12-13, 7:30-9:00 p.m.
April 13, 2:00 p.m. matinee performance
