Animation Degree (BS)

Are you created to create?

Graduates from HU Arizona find jobs as animators at Studios Like Disney, Riot Games & TTP, and as artists and marketers at Consumer Direct INC and The RealReal.

From motion graphics to 3D Sculpting, animation is at the forefront of our visual culture. If you find yourself laying awake at night dreaming of that next project, you’ll find an avenue for those creative talents right here at HUAZ.

HUAZ animated films have received national acclaim & garnered numerous awards including 8 Rocky Mountain Emmys and many of which were developed by first time filmmakers.

As an animation student you will be immersed in this expanding art form. You’ll study the foundation of art while exploring and surrounding yourself with what animation is and what it can do. You will be taught the skills needed to not merely survive in this culture, but to thrive.

"In a time where more content is created daily than ever before, the one factor that has helped creators stand out is the quality of their visuals and storytelling. With HUAZ's record 4 Animation wins at BEA this year, this serves as a strong indicator that people resonate with the stories being told here and that the work our students are making remains of excellent quality. HUAZ remains dedicated to creating projects that are not only enjoyable, but have helped advance numerous artist's careers."

"What I really appreciate about the Huntington professors is that they connect to you as people and want to directly understand what your goals are as an artist and work with you to find a way to get there."

"As someone who was homeschooled, I was used to tight-knit communities and small groups. The small classes and environment at Huntington were the first things I noticed, making it an easy switch."

The Skills to Succeed

The focus of the animation program is on imagemotion, and character.

As the technology continues to evolve, these principles hold true. That’s why they are the core of HUAZ’s animation program.

Yes, you’ll learn how to use all the cool animation tools, but you’ll also experience the raw power of true storytelling, learn what it takes to develop a memorable character, and hone your skills as a creator.
