Dr. Ruth Ford joined the university in 2013 as the director of occupational therapy. She previously served as the associate dean of occupational therapy at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn. She comes to HU with 13 years of experience in academia, including expertise in the clinical and business aspects of the field.
Dr. Beth Bright joined HU in 2014. Her prior clinical work includes skilled nursing facility in Tennessee as the assistant rehabilitation director and OT services at a community hospital. In her position as an assistant rehabilitation director, Beth has assisted in the development of the Rehabilitation Centers of Excellence specifically addressing the needs of patients affected by Parkinson’s disease.
Nate joined the HU faculty in 2014. Prior to moving to Fort Wayne, Nate served in New Mexico with the Indian Health Service working cross-culturally with the Native American population. His primary area of expertise is orthopedic upper extremity/hand management. Dr. Short is working toward the Certified Hand Therapist credential in Fall 2014.
Nicole Arivett is the Administrative Secretary for the Doctorate of Occupational Therapy Program at Huntington University. She has an associate’s degree in Accounting and Business and worked for seven years as the VP of Administration at AALCO Distributing in Fort Wayne. In this role, she works closely with the public and private school systems located within Allen County as well as the local Colleges and Universities.
Sara Diehl began working at Huntington University in 2008. She now manages the daily enrollment activities of the graduate and adult program offices. Diehl received a Bachelor of Science degree in Entrepreneurial Small Business Management and Marketing from Huntington University in 2008 and is currently working on her MBA.
Dr. Amanda Scott, OTD, OTR/L has been an occupational therapist since 2000 with experience in geriatrics, pediatrics, management, and collegiate level education.
Dr. Joel Vilensky, adjunct faculty for anatomy, has a doctoral degree from the University of Wisconsin in biological anthropology; a master's degree from the University of Chicago and his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University.
