HUNTINGTON, IN-Tucker Quayle, son of former United States Vice President Dan Quayle, will speak on "Growing Up in the Shadow of the White House" at the Huntington College Foundation's annual dinner on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000 at 6:30 p.m.
On the same day, Quayle will also address Huntington College students and faculty during the 10 a.m. chapel service at the Merillat Centre for the Arts, where he will talk about faith and politics. He will also attend a class and interact with students concerning political communications.
The public is cordially invited to attend the Foundation's annual dinner. The event will take place at the Habecker Dining Commons on the Huntington College campus and is $15 per person or $100 for a table of eight. To make reservations, please call Tricia Kuntz at 359-4047.
Tucker Quayle was born in Indianapolis in 1974 to Marilyn and Dan Quayle. He graduated from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Penn., with a degree in International Relations and East Asian Studies. Quayle then studied Chinese for the next two summers at Indiana University Bloomington and spent one year at Sichuan University in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. He is now fluent in Chinese.
After finishing school, Quayle worked in the marketing department for American Standard-China for two years, traveling throughout the country. There he met his wife Yuan Zhiqin and married in her hometown of Shanghai before moving to Scottsdale, Ariz.
Quayle now works for his father in international consulting concentrating on the Asia Pacific and specifically China, to help businesses enter the Chinese market.
The Huntington College Foundation, founded in 1938, exists to support the mission of the College by promoting education and fostering a synergistic relationship between the College and the Huntington County community and surrounding area. The Foundation works to generate financial resources, raise awareness of the College, assist in the recruitment of local students, and facilitate opportunities for Huntington College graduates to remain in the community.
