There are an unmanageably
large number of web sites devoted to mathematics, so all we can do here is
to list a few good starting places.
The
Math Forum is a great index of other
sites. They are arranged by topic, by level (grade school through
graduate school), etc. You can also find sample lesson plans for various
math topics at various grade levels.
Mathworld is an interactive
on-line encyclopedia of mathematics powered by Mathematica. A superb
resource!
Mathematica is commonly used in our
classes. You should buy a student edition of this
world-class mathematical software.
It is
only a fraction of the retail cost, yet fully-functional! The
only difference is that each page you print will have
“student edition” printed at the bottom.
You can
also get it for just 1 semester for an even lower price. You can buy it through the
website
http://www.wolfram.com/. For support questions, you can ask
your professors or contact the Wolfram Student Support Forum
http://forums.wolfram.com/student-support/list/).
Prospective teachers please note: Some high schools are using
Mathematica. See info about the Classroom Edition of Mathematica which
is linked to this site:

Geometer’s Sketchpad is
commonly used in teaching and learning geometry. You should
consider buying a
student edition of this great software.
It is
priced a lot less than normal retail. You can do so through the web
site, or the bookstore. Many high schools are using Sketchpad.
StatCrunch
This is a subscription site for doing statistical analysis online.
Stella4D, a
neat program for constructing virtual (or real) polyhedra: (The “stella” refers to “stellation”, which is an operation used to make
new polyhedra from old.)
Just for fun, here is
a link to a page Foxtrot comics, which sometimes has a math theme.
