Dr. Dawn Anderson
Professor of Exercise Science

Dr. Anderson received her PhD in human bioenergetics from Ball State University. She is a scientific advisor on the International Society of Sports Nutrition Advisory Board. She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Her primary areas of research are martial arts training, gender differences and nutrition, and body composition assessment methods

Assistant Professor of Recreation and Sports Management

Dr. Jody Davenport earned her Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education from Manchester College in North Manchester, Ind., and her Master of Science degree in secondary education from IPFW. She earned her Ph.D. in post-secondary and adult education from Capella University in Minneapolis, Minn.

Dr. Matthew Ruiz earned his Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training and exercise science from Lipscomb University, a Master of Science degree in exercise science and sport studies from Springfield College, and a Ph.D. in kinesiology with an emphasis in sport and exercise psychology from the University of Minnesota.

Professor Emeritus

Professor Connie Updike earned her B.S. from Manchester College in Physical Education, Health, and Recreation, M.S. in Secondary Education with a Physical Education, Health and Recreation endorsement from Indiana University and has completed post graduate work in Therapeutic Recreation from Indiana University.

Chris works within the Athletics Department providing medical care to Huntington University student athletes. Chris also teaches several classes as an adjunct professor for the Department of Exercise Science.
