How online degree programs work
Huntington University uses Moodle for
the online programs. A tutorial for Moodle is available to give you an
idea as to how our online courses work. If you have any difficulties
with a class Web site, there is 24/7 technical support. Three-credit
courses last seven weeks, and you are not required to be online at the
same time as your classmates.
Classes involve weekly reading,
discussion and written assignments to complete. You would not be asked
to meet online at a certain time; instead, you have lectures to
watch/listen to and reading that you would need to work into your
schedule. In-class discussions are replaced with a discussion forum. You
would be asked to respond to a questions posted by your instructor by
mid-week. Then you will need to respond to other students by the end of
the lesson. For each class, you would receive a list of assignments with
due dates on the syllabus.
There is also a calendar on course Web
sites that will help you keep track of upcoming events. Your books
would be mailed to you (and are included in the cost of tuition).
Prior to enrolling, make sure you have all of the software/plug-ins that you need.
More online options
Huntington University also offers online classes for traditional undergraduates, especially in the summer months.
In addition, graduate degrees in education and youth ministry leadership are available in hybrid online/in-class formats.
