The nationally-ranked Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resource Management is a degree
completion major comprised of 48 credit hours(128 credits) which will
enable adult students to better compete in the job market, especially in
the growing field of human resource management. This degree will focus
on the skills required to become a human resource generalist.
Conversations
with regional HR managers indicate that many employment opportunities
present themselves in communities surrounding Fort Wayne where smaller
manufacturing companies operate.
The Professional Programs curriculum is taught in sequentially ordered courses that meet one evening per week.
Students entering a bachelor's degree program are required to
have earned 50 semester hours of college credits prior to entering the
program. Courses in the core curriculum and elective courses are taken
to complete the Bachelor of Science degree requirements.

The Business Capstone Project
Through the capstone course, students will demonstrate their mastery of
their learning by addressing a real business organizational issue. The
outcome will include a thesis-type written report and oral presentation
demonstrating individual competence. The business capstone project has
the following purposes:
- To develop research skills needed to locate information on which to base sound decisions.
- To develop professional writing skills.
- To develop oral presentation skills.
- To develop a new area of expertise of value to the student on the job or in the community.
- To prepare students for graduate school.
