Minoring in environmental science at Huntington University will provide you with the opportunity to combine your classroom studies with field experiences. Emphasis is placed on integrating coursework from the natural sciences, the liberal arts, and the Christian faith in order to prepare you for leadership in environmental stewardship. You will learn to integrate studies in the natural sciences, the liberal arts and the Christian faith to prepare for leadership in earth-keeping.

Cutting-Edge Equipment and Labs

Our 90,000 square foot Dowden Science Hall will provide you with high-tech equipment and well-stocked labs. Your classes will be taught by exceptional professors who will challenge you to think critically, work diligently and integrate faith with your studies. Through our partnership with the AuSable Institute of Environmental Studies you will be encouraged to take field-based classes in northern Michigan, the Pacific Northwest, and Costa Rica, while our own Thornhill Nature Preserve provides opportunities for field research only a few minutes from campus.

Environmental science is an interdisciplinary program that builds on foundational course work in chemistry and biology, as well as physics and mathematics. Students can earn a minor in environmental science with an emphasis on laboratory science or public policy.
