Del Doughty is Professor of English, Chair of the Division of Humane Studies, and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. He teaches courses in creative writing and world literature and has published a few short collections of poetry.

Professor of English

Dr. Todd Martin earned his Ph.D. from Baylor University in 1998. His primary areas of interest are 20th century British and American literature, though he also dabbles in Science Fiction. He has presented his research at numerous academic conferences and has published articles on such varied authors as John Barth, E. E. Cummings, Clyde Edgerton, Julia Alvarez, and Edwidge Danticat.

Dr. Jack Heller received his Ph.D. in English from Louisiana State University in August 1997. His primary research interests include Renaissance drama, Shakespeare, other 16th and 17th century literature, religious studies, and African American literature. He has presented conference papers on these subjects at various regional and national conferences.

Dr. Linda Urschel serves as the chair of the Department of English and Modern Languages. She is a member of the National Council of Teachers of English, the American Popular Culture Association of the South, the College English Association and the Indiana College English Association for which she serves as President.

Professor Elise Chadwick came to Huntington University having been a missionary in Peru for three years. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Spanish Education from Calvin College in 2003, and then went immediately to work, teaching high school Spanish in Lansing, Mich.
