Tyler Welker graduated with honors from HU as one of the first DMA majors back in 2008. While attending Huntington, one of his animated short films won first place in the TV Entertainment Feature category of the 2007 College State Awards for the Indiana Association of School Broadcasters. Another one of his animated short films was presented in Wheaton College’s “LEAST” festival in 2006.

Sandy Hartle acts as administrative support for faculty, staff, and adjuncts within the DMA department. Sandy’s duties include scheduling meetings, events, etc., overseeing budgets and purchasing, and acting as information liaison.

Dawn Ford is an independent producer/director of films, television series and new media. She has worked on films such as Return of the Jedi, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, The Right Stuff and Star Trek III, among others.

Adjunct Professor of Radio & Television

John O’Rourke began his time at Huntington University in 2010. He previously was the director/owner of Discovery Broadcasting Academy and was the morning show co-host and director of marketing and promotions for STAR 88.3. He was also the morning show host and program director for WMEE 97.3. John is currently working as program director and announcer at WHAK 95.1 and 1140 AM.

Nathan Hartman joined the university in 2011 first as the digital media arts recruiter and then as the DMA studio supervisor. Hartman is a 2010 Huntington University film studies and broadcasting graduate.

Associate Professor of Digital Media Arts

Steve Leeper is a filmmaker, storyteller and educator. Originally from the Midwest, Leeper studied animation, painting and drawing at the Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston. In 1997, Leeper joined Big Idea Productions. Between 1998 and 2003, he served as layout supervisor for numerous productions including the feature film "Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie."

Bryan Ballinger’s specialty is in the design and illustration work of digital media including 3D CGI skills in modeling, texturing, lighting and animation. As the associate professor of digital media arts, he has more than 13 years of experience in this area focusing on graphics for CD-Rom titles, web, film, video and print.
