Dr. Mary E. Ruthi is chair of the Division of History, Social Sciences and Education. She received her B.A in sociology and history from Sterling College in Sterling, Kansas, and her M.A and Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Amy Biegel has worked in the field of social work for 13 years, working mostly with children, adolescents and their families. She has worked in the foster care industry, in private practice, as a mental health consultant, taught adjunct classes for the HU graduate counseling program and founded a counseling program for a local chapter of Youth For Christ.
