Mike Perkins
teaches journalism course at Huntington University. For more than
two decades he served as editor-in-cheif of the Herald Press newspaper in
Huntington, Indiana. A graduate of Huntington University, Perkins brings current real-newsroom wisdom to the
journalism classes he teaches for the department. He also mentors journalism
students
during
summer internships at the
Herald-Press.

Aleshia
Panbamrung teaches public speaking courses in the Communication
Department at Huntington University. She holds a M.A. degree in
Professional Communication from Indiana-Purdue University in Fort
Wayne, Ind. Her communication background includes professional and
media communication. Most recently she worked with a team of MBA
students at IPFW, which won an award for Social Enterprise in the
San Francisco University
Business Plan Competition. She is currently working on a documentary
film about suicide and stigma through the IPFW Behavioral Health
Institute. Panbamrung’s diverse experience includes student
recruitment and program development as the IPFW Assistant Director
of Admissions/Multicultural Outreach & Recruitment. In that
capacity, she regularly gives public presentations as she works with
programs such as Teach for America, Twenty First Century Scholars,
and Indiana Department of Education GED division.

Heather
Barkley serves as the Assistant Director of Public Relations at
Huntington University and is accredited
in public relations by the
Universal Accreditation Board. Students who take the Public Relations Practicum will
work under Barkley in the Office of Public Relations located in the Annex
Building. Barkley earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication from
Olivet Nazarene University (2001). As a student, she served three
consecutive terms as the executive editor of the GlimmerGlass, the school
newspaper. Post graduation, she used her knowledge and background to teach
courses at her alma mater in business & technical writing, creative writing
and service learning. She served as the business reporter for the
Daily Journal (Kankakee,
Ill.) from 2001-2003. Following that position, she worked as a case manager
for adults who have mental illnesses at
Thresholds, Inc.
(Kankakee, Ill.) and Park Center,
Inc. (Fort Wayne, Ind.). Barkley is a member of the
Public Relations Society of America.

Jennifer
Boen is health and human services reporter of the Fort Wayne, Indiana,
News-Sentinel and a graduate of Huntington College. She does
journalism by day and teaches it (Writing for the Media) at
Huntington University by night. Awards and honors for her work include the
2001 Fellowship to the
University of Maryland’s School of Specialized Journalism,
the 1999 Clarion Award for groundbreaking story on the first U.S.
anonymous kidney donation, and a number of
awards for a series on nursing homes comparing patterns in nonprofit and
for-profit homes. She has been
published in People Magazine and The New
York Times.

Dr.
Luke S. Fetters
brings a wealth of personal
experience and perspective to the intercultural communication classes he
teaches. A full-time assistant professor of Educational Ministry at
Huntington University, he is a graduate of Huntington College ( BA and masters
in Christian ministries) and Wheaton College Graduate School (masters in
Intercultural Studies). Fetters earned his Doctorate of Education in Adult,
Higher and Community Education from Ball State University. He has served the Church of the United Brethren in
Christ in numerous ministry roles, including youth pastor, associate pastor
for education, senior pastor, church planter and missionary. He has been
instrumental in the establishment of three local churches and the United
Brethren Mission in Macau (Peoples Republic on China) where he lived with
his family from 1986 until 1997. This included serving as field director of
a multi-cultural leadership team in Macau. During his time in Asia, Luke was
involved in teaching English as a second language and served as an TESL
consultant to school districts in the Peoples Republic of China. Fetters is
completing an Ed.D. in Adult and Community Education at Ball State
University (Muncie, IN).

Dale Gerke
is the General Manager of the Bott Radio Network station in
Fort Wayne AM 1090 since 1993. He received his Bachelor of
Science in Business Administration from the University of South
Carolina in 1989. He is founder of Wisdom Based Sales, a
program dedicated to applying Biblical principles to marketing
with an emphasis in sales and advertising. He teaches
Broadcasting Management and Advertising Campaigns for Huntington
University as well as Marketing and Business Case Studies in HU's EXCEL program. His passion is to help students develop
their skills with excellence and to encourage students to live
out their faith in the marketplace.

Keith
Reynolds teaches
public speaking courses for Huntington University. He is
director of young adult ministries & spiritual formation at
Fellowship Missionary Church (www.fmcfw.org)
in Fort Wayne, Ind. Reynolds was born and raised in Chicago,
Illinois. He graduated from Elim Bible Institute in Lima, New
York, with a major in Biblical Studies and from Southwestern
Christian Seminary in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, with a Masters
Degree in Christian Leadership. He and his wife LeeAnn reside in
Fort Wayne with their five children Anisa (8), Isaiah (6),
Alianna (4), Gabrielle (2), and Elijah (1). As director of
young adult ministries, he works to train, envision and impassion
young adults, both college and career age, unto discipleship and missional engagement. As director of spiritual formation, he
leads the broader community of Fellowship Missionary Church on
the inward journey of character formation. Reynolds regularly
speaks in various settings and to diverse audiences. |
