Less than 24 hours after sweeping IWU, the Forester softball team (19-12) traveled to Mount Vernon Nazarene University on Saturday where they went 1-1 against the Cougars to move to 12-6 in league play for a share of the No. 2 spot in the standings.

The HU softball team has earned a reputation for scoring runs late in the game and that proved true again Saturday afternoon as they tallied two runs in the sixth in the opener to win 4-2 and then pieced together an impressive seven-inning rally to pull out a 5-4 victory in the nightcap to sweep the season series against Spring Arbor University.

For the first time this season, the Huntington softball team lost both games of a doubleheader to drop to 13-10 overall, 6-4 in league play.

The Huntington softball made quick work of Goshen College Tuesday afternoon, beating the Maple Leafs by the eight-run rule each game, 10-2, 15-3, to improve to 13-8 overall, 6-2 in Crossroads play.

Less than 24 hours after their first conference doubleheader at IWU, the Foresters took to their own field to host the Cougars of Mount Vernon Nazarene University where they swept the series, 7-6, 9-5, to improve to 10-7 overall, 3-1 in league play.
