Huntington University head coach Jim Bischoff has announced that Rochester High School standout Brooke Ewing has signed a letter of intent to bowl for the Foresters this fall.

The HU women’s bowling team wrapped up its inaugural season with a fine showing at the 2013 NAIA Invitational at Woodland Bowl in Indianapolis on March 22-23.

It was history in the making this past weekend as the HU women’s bowling team competed in the program’s first ever USBC collegiate sectionals at the Smyrna Bowling Center in Smyrna, Tennessee where they finished 13th out of 17 teams with 10,414 pins.

Bowling in the largest USBC Collegiate event of the season, the Forester women’s bowling team needed a strong showing in order to qualify for sectionals and Bischoff’s crew did just that to place 30th overall out of 55 teams.

This past weekend the Forester bowling teams headed to Columbus, Ohio, to compete in the Buckeye Baker Classic hosted by Ohio State University at the HPL Bowling Center where the women finished 11th and the men finished 17th.

The HU women’s bowling team kicked off the new year with a 37th place finish out of 52 teams at the 2013 Blue Gold Classic at Chippewa Bowl in South Bend.

In the first of two Tier 1 holiday tournaments and four days of bowling in Allentown, Pa. over Christmas break, the Forester women’s bowling team finished 9th in the Roto-Grip Keystone-Quaker Classic at the Playdrome Rose Bowl. It marks the third top-ten finish of the season.

The Forester women’s bowling team finished 8th in the inaugural Ball State University Cardinal Baker Classic at Munsee Lanes in Muncie, Ind., on December 1-2.
