F-1 Students Must Maintain Full Time Student Status (at least 12 hours) Unless Approved by DSO
Reduced Course Load due to Academic Difficulties
A reduced course load must be pre-approved by the Designated School Official (DSO) in the Student Life office and must consist of at least six (6) credits or half of the hours required for a full course of study. The student must resume a full course of study at the next available term since this is a one time occurance only!
Very Important: A student who drops below a full course of study without prior approval of the Designated School Official (DSO) will be considered out of status.
Reduced Course Load due to Medical Conditions
A reduced load may be approved by the Designated School Official (DSO) only after submission of documentation submitted by a licensed physician in the U.S.
Online Courses
International students are allowed to take no more than 3 credits of online courses per semester, trimester, or quarter toward the full course of study.
Very Important: All claims are to be evaluated and approved by the DSO in the Student Life office. The student must resume a full course of study at the next available term.
