Huntington, Ind.— The Huntington College Visual Arts Department will present its upcoming Graduating Visual Arts Majors Exhibit from November19 – December 20, 2004. Seniors Christy Shoemaker and Nuria Bagley will showcase their senior projects in the Robert E. Wilson Gallery of the Merillat Centre for the Arts. The exhibit, titled “Illustrations,” is a result of a one-year project in chosen mediums to represent each individual’s artistic growth over the past four years.

An artist reception will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2004, from 6-8:00 p.m., in the Gallery. Admission is free and the public is cordially invited to attend. The gallery is located upstairs in the Merillat Centre for the Arts and is open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and before all Merillat Centre for the Arts events.

Christy Shoemaker, a graphic design major from Oconomowoc, Wis., worked in photography and computer design to display a series of poster-sized song illustrations. She also used photography skills to present a self portrait series and a series focusing on the emotion and detail in everyday life and objects. Shoemaker will also showcase various communication packages for two designers.

Nuria Bagley, a graphic design major from Mexico City, Mexico, used digital drawing and painting techniques to accomplish a series of images for a children’s book. She worked in digital photography to manipulate the images. Her exhibit also presents a series of fashion advertising posters.
