Music faculty to perform at next foundation breakfast

Come join the feast while listening to the merry melodies of the season
Huntington, Ind.—Music is in the air, and the Huntington College Foundation will take full advantage of this holiday season’s merry melodies at its next foundation breakfast on Wednesday, December 12. Huntington College music faculty will showcase their talent in both traditional and popular Christmas carols, Christmas spirituals, and carols from around the world.

The public is cordially invited to attend. Breakfast will be served at 7:45 a.m., in the Habecker Dining Commons, and the program will conclude by 9 a.m. The cost of the breakfast is $6 per person. First-time guests are free of charge, thanks to the generosity of Chris and Janelle Love of Bailey-Love Mortuary.

The program will feature vocal and instrumental pieces by seven faculty members; Professor Michael Brennan (Guitar, Theory, Worship Ensembles), Professor Jean Flint (Accompanying Coordinator, Musicianship, Piano), Dr. Janice Fulbright (Department Chair and Director of Vocal Studies), Dr. George Killian (Choral Education and Choir Director), Professor Joni Killian (Vocal Studies), Dr. Marlene J. Schleiffer (Director of Instrumental Studies and Musicology), and Dr. Patricia A. Spedden (Director of Piano Studies and Theory).

Scheduled in the program are Christmas favorites such as O Come, O Come Emmanuel, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Away in a Manger, White Christmas, I’ll Be Home for Christmas, and much more. Also included will be a medley of Christmas spirituals, performed by Dr. George Killian, Mrs. Joni Killian, and Dr. Janice Fulbright. Dr. Fulbright will also join Dr. Spedden for a series of carols from around the world. The program will conclude with the performers joining together in a melodious praise of O Holy Night.
