Emmy-winning writer Bill Burnett to speak on animation at HU

HUNTINGTON, Ind. — Emmy Award-winning writer, producer and composer Bill Burnett will bring his expertise in the animation industry to Huntington University at 7 p.m. April 2 to demonstrate how to build a career in the field.

The presentation will be held in the Longaker Recital Hall of the Merillat Centre for the Arts. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Burnett’s talk, “You Are the Gatekeeper: Building a Career in Animation in the Internet Age,” will derive from his successful years as the co-creator and executive producer of Nickelodeon’s classic hit “ChalkZone,” head writer of Cartoon Network’s “Cow & Chicken” and as an Emmy-winning writer for Universal’s “Curious George.”

Huntington’s digital media arts program, featuring majors in film production, film studies, animation and broadcast-fusion media, is the largest program on campus.
