Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington University Peer Award recipients for April were Amy Wilson, controller/director of financial services, and Lori Garde, graduate studies program coordinator.
The Peer Award, which began in 2003, promotes acknowledgement and recognition of the outstanding efforts of Huntington University faculty and staff members. Award winners are chosen and recognized each month by fellow peers.
Wilson was recognized by Sandra Hartle, digital media arts assistant, who said that Wilson was “friendly, cheerful and kind” in doing her job. Wilson has been employed with the university for two years.
“She seems to deal with situations with an open mind and a considerate heart,” Hartle added. “She is obviously very knowledgeable in her field and willing to take the time to explain things without making others feel overwhelmed.”
Garde was recognized by Deb Burton, EXCEL program coordinator, for being a “vital part” of the graduate office. Garde has been with the university for 11 years.
“It is evident that she has a passion for the students and the programs. I have admired her dedication to the university. Lori’s organizational skills and flexibility keeps the grad office running efficiently. She always has a pleasant disposition and I have appreciated her friendship and support,” Burton added.
