Forester women's soccer receiving national attention

Huntington, Ind. - For the first time in program history, the Huntington University women's soccer team is receiving votes to be in the NAIA Top 25.

The Foresters received its first votes in the October 4 rating and climbed a few spots to 37th in the most recent poll released on Tuesday. Ranked second in the Mid-Central College Conference, HU has begun to garner attention at the national level. The Foresters have not lost in 12 matches during which they have outscored their opponents 33-8.

"This is a big honor for us," said Coach Burgher. "My goal has always been to make Huntington a nationally-known program. We have been building and I really believed that this was the year we would begin to move up. So far, it has worked out for us. But we want to continue to set a standard for Huntington women's soccer, this isn't a 1-2 year thing for us."

Huntington is currently 9-2-3, 3-0-2 in MCC play.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 14 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 53 NAIA All-America honors and 187 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
