HUNTINGTON, Ind. — Over the past 15 years, Dr. Mark Fairchild has visited more than 250 sites in the regions of Turkey, conducting surface surveys of ancient Biblical sites. In that time, he has documented thousands of antiquities with photographs. He will share some of these images in an exhibit opening at Huntington University on Sept. 10.
The exhibit titled, “Biblical Photography,” will run from Sept. 10 through Oct. 6 in the
Robert E. Wilson Gallery with an artist reception from 6-7:30 p.m. Sept. 21. Fairchild, professor of
Bible and religion at HU, will also give a special gallery talk from 2-3 p.m. Oct. 6, during
Homecoming/Family Weekend, about his trips. The talk will also take place in the Wilson Gallery.
The Wilson Gallery, located in the
Merillat Centre for the Arts, is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., before and after all MCA performances and by appointment.
The gallery and the gallery talk are free and open to the public.
