HU women's tennis opens season with 9-0 win

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Forester women’s tennis team came screaming out of the gates Thursday afternoon with a 9-0 win at Bluffton University to open up their 2012 fall season.

After giving up a mere two sets in all three doubles matches, HU stormed through singles play, winning in straight sets at all six spots for the shutout. Senior Aleksandra Spasic and freshman Cassandra Kasicki teamed up at #1 doubles to skate to an 8-0 win to set the tone as the Foresters gave up a total of only 15 sets the rest of the way.

"It's always good to get a win on the road and when that win is also the first match of the season it sets a positive attitude for the team,” said Coach Ferguson. “Outstanding first college match wins for freshmen Cassie Kasicki and Madison Johnson."

Huntington (1-0) is back on the courts this morning to face Cornerstone University at 10:00 a.m.
