The women’s tennis team traveled to Hanover College and defeated the Panthers 5-4 on a blustery day. Trailing 2-1 after doubles, the Foresters rallied to take four of the singles matches. Oddly enough, the only double winner on the day was junior Dawn Lauer who teamed with Rachael Boersma to win 8-1 at #3 doubles, then defeated Angela DiGeronimo, 6-3, 6-0. Kyleigh Gast remained undefeated with her 7-6 6-2 victory at #3 singles. The match of the day came at #2 singles where Stacy Plett, trailing 5-2 in the first set, reeled off nine straight games to defeat Megan Parrot 7-5, 6-2. “I was very pleased with the way we played today,” said Coach Turner. “The wind was swirling, but we handled it well. I am especially proud of the way Stacy pulled her match out.” With the win, the Foresters move to 2-1 on the season.
