Huntington, Ind.—In the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s (ITA) NAIA national rankings, four Huntington University Forester tennis players were listed among the top 50 in the nation.
Junior Stephanie Strong and sophomore Raelyn Althoff, Huntington's #1 doubles team, was ranked 18th nationally. Strong is an elementary education major from Goshen, Ind. (Fairfield High School), and Althoff is a business management major from Stevensville, Mich. (Lakeshore High School).
This past fall, the pair gained national attention when they won the ITA Midwest Region Tournament held at Cedarville University. The two performed well throughout the entire fall finishing 16-1 in competition and winning the Mid-Central College Conference doubles championship. A 12-5 fall record coupled with a runner-up finish in the consolation bracket of the ITA Region Tournament, Strong also received a #45 ranking in singles.
On the men's side, senior Tyler Moore and sophomore Gonzalo Vivas were ranked #25 in the nation in doubles after their strong showing at the ITA Midwest Region Tournament last fall where they finished second. Moore is a business management major from Auburn, Ind. (DeKalb High School), and Vivas is a business management major from Lima, Peru.
