The HU women's soccer
team kept things close but couldn't overcome a scrappy Indiana Tech team as the Warriors edged the Foresters 3-2 in non-conference action.
Tech struck first with a goal in the ninth minute of play but Brittany Hartman answered at the 20:53 mark when she slid one past the keeper after picking off a Warrior defender.
While the first half quietly came to a close, the second half started with a bang. Within five minutes of second half play, Tech knocked in two goals to take a 3-1 lead but a Warrior handball in the box less than a minute later set up a penalty kick that Erin Lessing took advantage of to notch HU's second goal of the game.
Huntington turned up the pressure in the final thirty minutes of play but could never find the back of the net as the Warriors held on for the 3-2 win. Tech outshot HU 13-9. HU keeper Megan Soltow finished with eight saves.
The 3-3 Foresters travel to Bluffton University on Saturday for a noon kick-off.
