Johnson, a four-year starter for the Tigers, was instrumental in the program’s history-making season this past fall. She anchored the defense to help the Tigers set a school record for most shutouts in a season with 13.

After being named the Most Improved Player as a freshman, the All-Conference pick went on to guide the Tigers to two sectional championships. She has played club soccer for the Warsaw Wave and most recently with NIFA.

Johnson has also excelled in the classroom, earning All-Academic and Scholar Athlete honors to go along with membership to the National Honor Society, High Honors and Magna Cum Laude. She is also a member of the ski club, Tiger Student Athletic Board, Blitz and the Tiger track team.

The exercise science and psychology major says, “I chose Huntington because I really like the way the campus is set up, the location, and the learning experience I know I will be receiving there for the next four years in my chosen career path. I am very excited to continue playing soccer and start focusing in on my chosen career path in physical therapy."

“I am a huge fan of Caitlin. She is a great person with such a kind heart,” said Head Coach Ryan Burgher. “I had the pleasure of coaching Caitlin when she was 14. She is the type of player who can play multiple positions ranging from outside back, outside mid or striker. You know wherever she is you are going to have someone going as hard as she can, as long as she can. I’m really excited to throw that work rate into the mix.”

Caitlin is the daughter of David and Charlene Johnson or Warsaw, Indiana.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 14 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 53 NAIA All-America honors and 187 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations. U.S.News & World Report ranks Huntington among the best colleges in the Midwest.
