It was a frustrating night for the HU
women's soccer team as they took one on the chin against Mount Vernon Nazarene University, losing to the Cougars 3-0.
The Cougars wasted no time converting a penalty kick into an easy score at the 1:50 mark to take the early lead. They struck again in the 18th minute and the final dagger came just three minutes into the second period when they scored their third goal of the game to take a commanding lead.
Despite outshooting Mount Vernon 21-9, the Foresters struggled to finish several great scoring opportunities. Megan Soltow and Caitlin Adams split goalie duties with each recording a save.
With this loss, HU drops to 4-4. They travel to Cornerstone University on Saturday for a 2:30 p.m. kick-off.
