Foresters ranked No. 13 in preseason poll

Huntington, Ind. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its Division II Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Preseason Poll last week and included on the list was Huntington University. The HU women's basketball team received 219 points to land them the No. 13 spot in the preseason rankings.

The Foresters, who return seven of their top eight scorers from last season's 19-11 squad, were selected third in the MCC as voted on by the league's coaches this fall. Other MCC schools garnering national attention include Indiana Wesleyan University (No. 3), the University of Saint Francis (No. 7), Grace College (No. 24), Marian University (RV) and Taylor University (RV).

Huntington opens up its official season on Saturday, November 5, hosting the University of Northwestern Ohio at 1:00 p.m.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 14 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 53 NAIA All-America honors and 187 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations. U.S.News & World Report ranks Huntington among the best colleges in the Midwest.
