HU freshman forward Jenna Donaldson scored 24 points on 9-12 shooting, including 6-7 from behind the arc to lead the Foresters to the 79-64 win over Indiana University South Bend.
Donaldson knocked down three treys in the first seven minutes of play to help give Huntington an early 10-point cushion, but the Titans responded with a 13-2 run to take a 24-23 lead with 9:43 to play in the half. An Erica Yost jumper put the Foresters back in front 25-24 and they never trailed again. Led by eight more points from Donaldson, Huntington closed out the half with a 21-5 spurt to take a 46-29 lead at intermission.
In the second half, the two teams traded baskets with the Foresters maintaining a 20-point advantage most of the way. Two free throws by Niki McDonald in the final minute of play got IU South Bend within 15 for the final margin of victory.
Donaldson, who also grabbed a game-high eight rebounds, was joined in double figures by Erica Yost with 15 points off the bench, Jessah Brumbaugh with 14 points and five assists and Amy Berry with 12 points.
For the game, Huntington went 33-63 from the field for 52.4% while the Titans were 23-48 for 47.9%. IU South Bend won the battle of the boards 31-29.
