The #2-seeded Taylor University Trojans hosted the #7-seeded Foresters (26-13) in an opening round match-up of the MCC Tournament. HU was able to take a game from the Trojans, but eventually had their season brought to a conclusion with the 21-30, 18-30, 30-24, 24-30 loss.

In game three, Brittney Smelser was inserted into the lineup and gave the Foresters a boost leading the team with 17 kills. In game four, HU dug itself a hole early. They made a run to cut it to 24-20, but couldn't get any closer.
