Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of Sept. 28-Oct. 4. Women’s volleyball senior Alyssa Schroeder and men’s soccer senior Kevin Keske earned the honors for their outstanding efforts during the week’s competitions.
Alyssa Schroeder, a senior business management major from Huntington, Ind. (Huntington North High School), helped lead Huntington to a 2-1 record for the week. Schroeder dished out 103 assists in the three matches for an average of 34.3 per game. She also chipped in nine aces and three blocks for the week. The Foresters return to action on Sept. 30 when they travel to Bethel College for a 7 p.m. start.
Kevin Keske, a senior business economics and finance major from Dayton, Ohio (Dayton Christian High School), had two solid performances as the Foresters’ keeper during the first week of conference play. Keske recorded six saves against Grace College and seven saves against Indiana Wesleyan to keep the Foresters close in both games. HU will have their hands full on Sept. 30 when they host Goshen College at 4 p.m.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 14 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past eleven years, Huntington has produced 64 NAIA All-America honors and 158 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
