No. 13 Taylor overpowers Foresters

Huntington, Ind. - Up against the 13th-ranked Trojans of Taylor University (10-3, 6-0), the Huntington volleyball team battled but came up short, losing in straight sets 25-10, 25-16, 25-20.

After a shaky first set, the Foresters showed plenty of grit by hanging around with the Trojans for the next two sets. The young but athletic Forester squad stayed competitive and didn't back down but it was Taylor’s power at the net and passing game that finally got the best of HU.

The Foresters were led by Brittany Rooze’s seven kills and five digs. Heather Medich and Rebekah Brown each tallied three kills. Kaylee Searles and Melissa Grossman finished with four block apiece. Jensen Carnahan dished out 12 assists.

Huntington (3-9, 0-6) takes the court again on Friday when they host Marian University at 7:00 p.m.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 14 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 53 NAIA All-America honors and 187 All-America Scholar Athlete honors. Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations. U.S.News & World Report ranks Huntington among the best colleges in the Midwest.
