Medich signs with Huntington

Huntington, Ind. - The Huntington University volleyball team and head coach Denny Crum /uploadedImages/News/News_Release_Images/Athletics/Medich-Heather.JPGannounced the addition of Mendon High School standout Heather Medich to the Foresters’ 2011 recruiting class.

On the court Medich was an All-State Honorable Mention selection, a three time All-Region player and a three time All-Conference pick. She collected 516 kills while hitting .382 and had 500 digs in her final season as a Hornet. In addition to volleyball, Medich was a member of the Mendon basketball and softball teams. Off season she played for Line Shots Volleyball Club out of Sturgis, Michigan.

Medich also excelled in the classroom where she finished fourth in her class with a 3.9 GPA. She was also recognized as an Academic All State honoree.

"Heather is fantastic athlete who and brings a wonderful skill base to our team,” said Coach Crum. “In addition we gained a bright and wonderful young lady with a wonderful family."

Medich is the daughter of Fred and Jayne Medich of Mendon, Michigan.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 14 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 53 NAIA All-America honors and 187 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
