Medich named Athlete of the Week

HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athlete of the Week for the week of October 1–7, 2012. Volleyball sophomore Heather Medich earned the honor for her outstanding efforts during the week’s competitions.

Medich (Mendon, Mich., Mendon HS) guided the Foresters to a 2-1 record last week. IN HU’s win against Spring Arbor on Wednesday, she recorded seven kills, a .538 hitting percentage and five digs.

Over the weekend, she tallied a team-high ten kills and two blocks against Davenport and finished with three kills to go along with two blocks and seven digs in a win over Purdue North Central.

Huntington (3-13) is back in action on Wednesday when they host Grace College at 7:00 p.m. 
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 16 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past decade, Huntington has produced 46 NAIA All-America honors and 202 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
